Who I am
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Commenting has been turned off on all websites removing any possibility of my websites capturing any visitor’s personal data.
Media uploads have been turned off on all websites removing any possibility of my websites capturing any visitor’s personal data.
This, along with my other three sites are WordPress sites. Visitors may elect to login to their personal WordPress account which will be recognized when they visit other WordPress sites such as mine. If you don’t have a personal WordPress account, no personal information will be shared with my WordPress site.
If you have an account and you log in to WordPress, WordPress will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in to your personal WordPress website, WordPress sets up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
I have a newsletter that is administered through MailChimp.com. To subscribe to the newsletter, a user will have to supply their email address. I will never manually add anyone to it, and people can easily unsubscribe by clicking on the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of the email. Furthermore, I will never sell or share the email addresses of those that subscribe to my newsletter.
Purchases made from my Market Place
When you purchase a downloadable product from me, I will receive your name, country, email address and either your zip or postal code. If you are buying something I must ship to you, I also collect your shipping address. I will never sell or share your data nor will I use it to market directly to you.
If you purchase from any of the companies I’m an affiliate for, know that they never share your personal information with me. For example, if you are buying Luminar 2018 from Skylum Software using my affiliate link and discount code, I will get a report that someone purchased Luminar 2018 and what my commission is but Skylum will not tell me anything about the person that bought it. None of the companies I’m an affiliate for share their customer’s personal information with me.
Who we share your data with
My newsletter is administered through MailChimp.com. If you subscribe to my newsletter, your email address is stored there. I don’t store your email address on my website server or personal computers.
If you purchase a product from me, your purchase info is stored on the server of the site I use for my shopping cart, ejunkie.com and with the site I use to process payments, PayPal.com. I don’t store any of your data on my website server or personal computers.
How long we retain your data
Newsletter subscriber email addresses are kept active until that person unsubscribes. When that person unsubscribes, the email address is moved to an inactive database. I will, at least once a year, delete email addresses in the inactive database.
Any data collected through my Market Place is kept for a minimum of seven years, for tax purposes, in a secure database.
Where your data is stored
Newsletter data is kept on my account at MailChimp.com and Market Place data is kept with the company that runs my shopping cart, e-junkie.com and with the company that I use to process payments, PayPal.com.
What rights you have over your data
You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
