Canon to Introduce Some of Its Best Lenses in 2021

With the ongoing race to create the best mirrorless cameras and lenses, it appears as though Canon won’t be slowing down anytime soon. With 2021 approaching, the year is expected to feature some of the best lenses from Canon.

Canon Rumors is reporting that the company will be releasing two new big white lenses (super-telephoto prime lenses) for the RF mirrorless mount. The term big white refers to the current EF mount lenses: 200mm f/2L IS USM, 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM, 600mm f/4L IS III USM, and the 800mm f/5.6L IS USM. These lenses are predominantly used by sport and wildlife photographers who are in need of the most durable and high-level performing lenses available.

The upcoming release of the two lenses is likely to be around the time of the R1, which is the company’s upcoming flagship mirrorless camera and analog to the 1D DSLR series. Hints and guesses are assuming that one of the lenses will be a 300mm f/2.8, while most aren’t sure what the other one is.
