Documentary: Leaving Home, Coming Home: A Portrait of Robert Frank (2005)

Robert Frank is one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. His quintessential book, The Americans, with it’s raw look at an America plagued by racism, rampant poverty, and growing consumerism, changed the way the world saw America and how Americans perceived themselves.

Robert Frank never gave interviews but agreed to participate in this documentary and be interviewed in it. I hope you enjoy it!

I don’t own a copy of The Americans but I do own the book below which includes the pictures that are in the original book along with an in-depth look at the making of each of the images and of the book itself.
