I’m probably giving you the impression that all of my favorite photographers are over 80 years old. Although that is not true, 87 year old Jay Maisel is one of my favorites. After watching this short video, I think you’ll understand why.
The photo below is one I took this past April at the New York Museum of Modern Art. It was inspired by one of Jay’s photos that is flashed on the screen, in the video, at the 7-second mark.
In the video, one of his friends, Gregory Heisler, talks about Jay — Heisler is one of my favorite photographers as well and I’ll dig some info up on him for a future post.
I own these two books by Jay Maisel and recommend them highly. They’re not meant to be instructional books but more meant to be inspirational books.
