Yesterday’s documentary about William Klein was so well received, I thought I’d share another. This one, about Diane Arbus.
This documentary is a bit odd, maybe because it was filmed less than a year after her suicide but I think convey’s her as an artist quite well.
No photographer has been criticized more than Diane Arbus — she chronicled the lives of the disenfranchised and those living on the fringe of society. Because of that, she was said to be exploiting her subjects for her own gain or amusement.
I suspect that she’ll be a photographer you’ll either love or hate…. but really, what more could we ask for?
